First tank MPG

Hey Guys and Gals,

I just went thru my first tank of fuel and averaged 21mpg mixed driving. I have the 3.55 rear end and was hoping for a little better fuel economy.

Are other ED owners seeing the same results?

Oh and I live in southwest Michigan and I'm sure we are on winter fuel now.

Steve

I just went through my first tank as well and got 20.5 mixed driving. I have a 3.92 rear. I was hoping for better mileage also! I was babying it the whole time.

Are you on winter fuel as well? I was soft on the pedal as well.

MPG in the winter months has seemed to affect mine. It also depends on tire size/tread ect. I found with my SR-A on 20''s gave me better MPG return then the winter tires I have on now, plus warming up or running cold makes the truck use more fuel.

Warmer weather should bring better MPG. Also make sure your truck is up to date with the "flashes" that the dealership can update.

I live in Orlando and had 25 miles of clear sailing on I-4. So out of curiosity I reset the fuel consumption, set the cruise control at 60, had the AC on low (hey, it's warm down here), and got 36 mpg on the drive home.

I just bought the truck. Do you believe there are updates already?

Yours might be up to date, but I bought mine in Aug, and I had two updates installed two weeks ago when they were investigating my MPG (lower then I expected as well). MPG has not been hand calc since the updates, but if the EVIC is correct, nothing has changed. But I'm running in the worst conditions for MPG. I let it warm up for 10 min in the morning, drive 18 km to work, then home again 12 hours later with no warm up.

I have been averaging around 10.4L/100km, which is about 21.5 mi/usgal I think. Not what they say, but wasn't expecting the kind of mileage they claim. It is a lot better than the hemi and F150's get from what my buddies tell me.
