The available Class-Exclusive RamBox3 continues to set the trend for inventive, out-of the-cargo-box thinking. This multi-faceted storage system — available on 5-foot 7-inch and 6-foot 4-inch beds — includes 2 large, drainable, illuminated and lockable storage compartments on each side of the cargo be and is spacious enough to hold a full golf bag or a number of power tools. I like the idea, but wouldn't get one. A prybar is all some meth-head needs to steal/sell your tools to pay for his next hit.

Do you park your car near where the meth-heads hang out usually?

I would think about getting one. Put some bungee cords back there with some tools in case the truck breaks down. First-aid kit. I am sure I can find more stuff to put inside too.

There was a little discussion regarding the ram box in the Cummins forum--over all people like it, but some offered up there thoughts:

"The other drawback was my buddies got broke into and they stole all his DeWalt tools among other things, and now the box leaks dust and water due to the crease from the crowbar. Should be fixed in a couple of weeks when body shop can get to it. Now he stores all his construction tools in a tool chest with double padlocks. Can't win against the criminals these days."---whitenite

If you are worried keep the cheaper items in there

I think that you are more likely to find stories like that on forums because people are more likely to tell a story about themselves getting robbed than they are about them not getting robbed.

the ram box also thickens the bed rails which in turn reduces your cargo area. Its not much but it still happens...

Doesn't the RAM have a storage space under the front floor mats?

Totally agree! Or talk about the truck being a piece of.... Seems like every-other post in the Cummins forum w/ the 2013 was someone talking about a CEL or heavy DEF consumption, etc. and needing the latest flash.

The rambox discussion was way more in the way of positive comments. I actually liked some of the ideas (iced beer). I just can't get past the design for easy/quick break in--so I personally wouldn't get one.

No locking feature on the ram box is stupid.
I guess at this point we have to wait on some aftermarket parts maker to make a retrofit kit to retrofit a lock.

Man its not even that, its that thieves will break into it even if nothing is in there. Its just too easy of a target. But Iced beer does sound lovely in there, especially after a good game of hockey

That same crow bar will break a window pretty easy...tools are easy targets no matter where you have them.

New member here just got my new ram with ramboxs,I realy like the boxs . One thing I wish they had is a warning light like the doors have when they are not completly shut.
Took mine through a car wash , one was not completly lacthed ,yep got a lot of water in it.

i like the idea but i did not get one. I really looks like it reduces the width of the bed by a lot. I am not sure of how much, but side to side it looks like a lot

It doesn't, it the same width as between the wheel wells. You can easily fit a piece of plywood.
