I have a 2014 grand cherokee diesel, and expected this 2015 ram to be the same or better. The jeep seems to have torque at lower rpms and it definitely shifts to higher gears quicker.
I thought the ratings on the engines were the same, but they sure do not act the same.
Has anyone compared the 2014 ram to the 2015 ram, and do they act the same?

Welcome to the forum. The jeep and the RAM are quite different vehicles. I'd bet the shift points in the transmission are set up differently. That's probably what you are feeling.
