So I have been assured by members of this board that ecodiesel comes standard with 3.55 gears and 3.92 option. Looking at window sticker shows ecodiesel ,3.21 gears and nowhere else on window sticker does it show an upgrade to 3.55. Truck is a Big Horn and got me to wondering. If by some fluke the truck does indeed have 3.21 and ecodiesel how would the truck perform? My tow will be 11 foot tall travel trailer with 5000 lbs weight. What does the board think of 3.21 gears? I'm wondering worst case scenario. Thanks.

If you want more detailed information than what the windows sticker provides, you can ask the dealer for the build sheet. He will use the VIN number to look that up and it will show exactly all the features and options that were installed in that truck at build time.

I think the window sticker is more of a "comparison shopping" tool for consumers to use when walking around on the lot.

I'll let others answer the "towing with 3.21 gears" question.

Thanks Zoomie, I'll tell them I want to see the build sheet. I would think 3.21 gears would not have much top end power. Not a good result when matched up with the ecodiesel.

The Ecodiesel comes with 3.55 gears and option of 3.92. The window sticker you're talking about is the stock sheet from the factory for all the trucks. The correct gearing will be on the accessories/add-ons side of the window sticker, which is where you will see the 3.55

That's my concern, 3.55 not listed on the accessories/add ons unless of course it shows as a "code" as in package. Maybe I'm making more of this than I should. Just want it to be correct.

You can never go wrong with making sure you're 100% correct.
I have also read elsewhere that it is in fact 3.55

If I recall, I lost about 1000 towing capacity by going with the 3.55s. I'm guessing another 1000 with 3.21s. ...but I don't think it's possible to get an ecodiesel with 3.21s. Standard axle ratio is 3.55s. Check the rear axle. My eco has a factory sticker wrapped all the way around it and it shows 3.55. Should be on the drivers side.

Your right. The 3.55 is not listed under the accessories/add ons. If you look at the printed brochure, it's listed under mechanicals under subheading 'axle', and their it states that the 3.21 is not available with the 3.0 V6 EcoDiesel... So the 3.55 is automatically substituted.
If you try to 'build' it online, as soon as you select EcoDiesel as the engine option, it automatically opens a window stating that you have to get the 8-speed and 3.55 if I remember right. The only other option is the 3.92.

The axle had a 3.55 sticker upon it. I did not buy however as the truck was not what I wanted. Great truck for show but I needed the tow package and the bling in the Big Horn was a bit much for me. I'm a simple man. Thanks for the replies and think I'll have a '15 ordered to my needs. My 6.7 Cummins is great but way over kill for my down sized 5k lbs trailer.

Just a heads up to the group I have closed this thread. There is another active 3.21 discussion going today as well with some other info with custom orders you can check out. The consensus is that 3.21 gearing is only for gas and not the ecodiesel.
