Hey group,

looking for some info and how the 4x4 equipped ram 1500 works. I see the 4 Auto, 4 locked, 4 low and 2wd, but how/what does each function do/work?

you tube doesn't have any specific demo on this topic, so i thought i'd ask the people who have them.

Thanks in advance, btw i'll be receiving my 14 ED laramie 4x4 quad cab this weekend :D

It basically will sense wheel spin when in the auto position and engage the four wheel drive when it does. I use it all the time in patchy snowy roads. It will drive like its in 2 wheel drive (NO funky feel in the steering wheel when making turns) and still will kick in the 4x4 when the rear tires start to slip.. But.. If you are driving in snow covered roads or icy roads and need to make sure you have traction and braking and are going fairly slow you just need to put it in 4 high to make sure.. I would wait for snow and go to a big parking lot and try both modes to feel the difference for yourself,, plus have a lil fun while "learning" how the system functions.. :) btw Medic here.. But not a Diesel medic.. **** I don't even change my own oil..
lol.. the system put **** because I said (h e l l).. now that's funny
Thanks for the info, does anyone know if there are lockers in this truck? I see the 4 lock.
I haven't heard any talk of a locker. There is the glove compartment and then you can also get lockable boxes for the bed, but there is no vault like container in the Ram 1500 to store stuff.

If you mean like the Power Wagon or Rubicon. Then no. Not even in the after market to my knowledge.
