5000 miles and Check Engine Light on

Roughly 5000 mile and the check engine light came on. Took it the dealership. The code that came up was to call Chrysler. Something to do with the oxygen sensor. They gave the truck back and are not able to solve the problem yet. 2 days later get a call with 14 questions on how I drive and if I have added any additives or equipment upgrades. Short story they still have not called with a fix.

But on the brighter side love the truck. average 26.5 on average. I do not tow but I do do a lot of driving roughly 650 mile a week. I have had the truck for 2 months.

Have had my new Big Horn for a little over 2 weeks and was impressed until Monday night, I had let the fuel get down to where the low fuel light came on to see how much estimated miles I had left at that point. After making a stop and restarting I noticed the engine icon (MIL) lit, filled tank and the light stayed on. According to the manual, it may go out after a few driving cycles but it did not. So now it's back at the dealer as of yesterday and no call from them yet. I'm not sure if the low fuel has anything to do with the MIL or not. Have less than 900 miles on it and already an issue.
Got a call from the dealer, problem is supposedly fixed. According to service manager, it was moisture in one of the sensor connections but she did not know which one.
Sorry I haven't been on in a while been about 5000 miles and the light has been coming on and off, went in today for the oil change and see if there was any news on fixing the problem.

They said there was a recall and flashed the computer. Fixed who knows?

Still running good and still getting 26 mpg.

By the way 186 dollars for oil change!!!! And they did not even fill up the DEF fluid. ouch
WOW Chris. That's a stunning amount to pay for 10 1/2 quarts of oil and a simple cartridge filter plus labor.

I'm still rooted in 39 cent oil and $2 filters. Even when it went to 89 cents a quart I was upset. Today???
Check engine light

The check engine light came on at 7000 miles. A few days before, I started noticing rough revving at around 1500 rpm's. Called the dealer. So far no call back. About a month ago my cruise control became spotty. The on/off works 50% of times only. I'm hoping the recall will take care of that nuisance. Generally, I'm happy with the truck. Getting 22-23 mpg's in the city driving. Hands down better than my 2010 Tundra's 13 mpg city. Hope this check engine is not a beginning of serious problems for otherwise a great rig. BTW, my DEF is at 1/4 full so not far from what they advertised (1 tank per 10k miles).
Just adding to list. Light seems to be random, however it has remained on the past couple of days. At 4400 miles, codes P0171 - Powertrain System too lean (Bank 1) and P0426 - Powertrain Catalyst Temperature Sensor Range/Performance (Bank 1). Emailed dealer to see if they can order the parts before I drive it in.

A day later Check engine light went out. Roughness at low rpms comes and goes. Couldn't turn on my cruise control at all today. Dealer promised to take it in early next week. We'll see what happens.

And on again today. Rough revving.
Check engine light

Do any body now if chrystler already found how to fix the problem with the Ram 1500 ecodiesel, check engine light
Do you still having the problem with your check engine light?
4400 Miles, dealer response

Dealer removed and sent pictures of both sensors to Chrysler. Air pressure was used to clean out the soot. He said it usually gathers with all city driving or speeds below 55mph. At 55 and higher, the system is supposed to clean out the sensors. That is not my case with about a third of the 4400 miles at 70mph. They said new sensors and a firmware update are on the way, just no ETA at this time.

Engine light/sensor

Just off the phone with my dealer. Not known for their customer service. Anyhow they cleaned the O2 sensor and the EGT sensor. Reset the the computer and ordered new parts which are on back order for who knows. Glad to have found this forum, at least I am not alone. Still love the truck but hate things to break

Hey Guys just joined the forum....I put 4k miles on my ecodeisel and the check engine light came on. The dealership told me today it's a oxygen sensor issue and there was no fix for now. He told me to pick up my truck in the morning and they will notify me once they have the answer...kinda scary taking your new truck in the dealership for repairs when you haven't even had the first oil change!

The dealer took my truck in and ordered the infamous oxygen sensor. For now, they put me in a brand new Ram Long Horn 5.7 Hemi V8. I am loving the responsiveness and power of the engine but the fuel mileage stays around 14 mpg when my eco-diesel does 22-24 mpg's. Let's hope they find some way to fix the issue long term.

Today after 2940 miles on the odometer check engine light came on. Took to Autonation and within 20 minutes a technician run the scanner and found a code which mentioned
fuel mixture too rich. Reset it and have not turn on again. Made an appointment for next week to run a full testing. Otherwise everything else is running well and averaging 24 mpg in the city and 29 to 30 mpg on the hwy. Sweet truck great mileage.
My engine light is also on I took it to the dealership that I bought the truck from and they they originally couldn't get me until the following Tuesday I explained I was going away and asked if rye could just put it on machine just to see, 10 excuses later and an argument I left, took it to totally different dealership to find out that it needs an update that won't be done in few weeks. They say it's ok to strike as long as it doesn't start blinking! As far as the DEF, my truck ate thru it 1st 5,000 miles or so, now I can quite a ways, I went NJ to CO and home and never had to refill it. I have to take back the fussing I did about that, I get a box of it for $14.95 at Advanced auto parts and when I go on trips I bring it with me!
