I'm about a week away from buying/ordering a EcoDiesel (I have an aversion to the acronym ED, can't put my finger on why...) but I'm not convinced the air suspension option serves a practical purpose. Of those of you that have this option, what is your experience? Is it worth $1600?

I went into my local ram dealer in Houston , TX today to place an order for the 2015 ecodiesel with air suspension, but the air suspension option was nowhere to be found ! and i will have to wait until monday for a reply. Has the option been removed from 2015 ?
Hope not as i firmly believe it provides some benefits to the overall package.

Love mine

I can't speak for the ride as I only have experience with the 1500 with air. I use it always to enter and exit the vehicle in the low position (when I remember to push the lower button as I'm parking) as I don't care for running boards. I like that it lowers the vehicle automatically for better aerodynamics over 66. I love using it with my rear view camera to back under a trailer hitch and then raise the truck into the hitch ball. Worth it to me.

I do not have it out of my dislike for more electronics that can fail. Those that do have the feature flat out love it. It will hold up loads if tongue weight is added and even out the ride.

It's your money. You decide if it's worth it to you. When it works it works well.

Something must be glitchy with your dealers computer. I just finalized my order of a 2015 Laramie and it will have the air suspension. Ordering for the 15's just opened and the dealer didn't have all the info on the new MY yet. But from the info they did have there were no major changes from the 2014.

I'd order it again. I dropped a 1600# load in the bed & it "rose to the occasion".
The only experience I had with a conventional suspension was a short test drive. I like to think there was a difference in the ride quality but it may be my mind trying to justify the expenditure. I think the coil springs offer a pretty soft ride as compared to other brand leaf springs. I did a comparison of the aero mode & normal ride height by back tracking a 200+ mile trip & found I actually did get a 1.2 mpg difference. While I do use the aero mode when traveling, the ride comfort is degraded slightly.

There have consistently been temp moratoriums on the air suspension. A friend placed an order & the option was blocked. Had the dealer check the next day & it was available again. Have your dealer continue to check & it'll eventually come up.

erectile dysfunction? Might want to change the screen name ;) Air is cool, I spent some time with an air ride equipped truck, but I'm with some of the others the less complexity the better, oh and for whats its worth I've heard Jeep has had issues with their air ride over a longer time...

The air suspension offers a MUCH better ride than the standard suspension. I had to turn mine in for service a while back and got an SLT without the air ride. The difference was like night and day and I couldn't wait to get mine back.

I also use the entry/exit mode for my dogs since one of them screwed up his shoulder jumping out at the normal ride height. It also makes it a lot easier to get them in.

I'm with 10%. It sounds like it's a great feature but how much trouble will it give you 5 years down the road. My opinion is, if you keep your truck longer than that, then don't get it. JMHO.

And depending on what you do with your truck and how much you like it and technology it may be worth it to get rid of it after the 4-5 year mark and then start fresh.

I ordered mine without the air suspension, simply bacause I can put air bags in the back so much cheaper and service and repair it myself for low cost and adjust for sag just as easy, and with a 2.5" lift/level kit it will be just as high as offroad2 mode with air susp. As for the entry exit mode, I'm not too interested in that although I'm sure its great for some owners.
