Brining the grand total for 2015 up to 12 million vehicles recalled, FCA is calling back upwards of 1.7 million trucks in three separate campaigns, two of which feature the 1500.

This is in addition to the 1,697 2014-15 1500 Ecodiesels that were recalled this week for an electrical fault that may cause stalling and fire risk.

First, 1.35 million 2012-2014 1500, 2500, 3500 pickups and 3500, 4500 and 5500 cab and chassis because a wiring harness could potentially come into contact with a spring, the subsequent wear can trigger a short circuit, deploying airbags without warning. Two injuries have been reported.

Next are 188,000 2014-15 Ram 1500 Quad Cab pickups which are being recalled for side curtain airbags that are not compliant with federal rules.

Lastly and unrelated to the 1500 are 193,000 2013-2014 Ram 2500/3500's to repair bracket welds that could potentially lead to steering problems.

FCA will be bringing in an outside consultant to review how it handles auto safety.

Ram 2014 4x4 crew cab. I had a wiring issue that pop up in the first month I had the truck. I would turned the truck off but I could hear a small motor running. Next morning the truck was dead. I took back to the dealer, and they replaced the computer board. Two weeks later the same-thing happen, turned off the truck and you could hear a small motor still running. Truck was dead again the next morning. Each time killing the battery. Back to the dealer, relay was stuck ? on the brake pump ? OK. about three weeks went by and it happen again, truck was dead. Pissed off took the truck back to trade in, they keep it 3 weeks. Fixed this time, they found a wiring issue. A wiring harness was install wrong at the factory was routed incorrectly. The wire was shorting out causing the flue pump motor to run. They repaired the problem, re-routed the wiring harness, replaced the wire that was shorting out. It's fixed this time. I have no issues for 10 months now.
