Best deal for 2015 order

Hello All:

I am trying to figure out which dealer in my area to order a 2015 Laraime or Longhorn with the 6'4" box, crew cab and air suspension.

My question is how did you select and negotiate with your dealer to get the best price on an ordered vehicle. I would like to go in with an agreement of X dollars over / under invoice + current incentives or X percentage off of list + incentives. I think the incentives need to be viewed separately since they change and vary from customer to customer based on what they qualify for.

Anyone that has a great, or bad, experience with the ordering and dealer selection process, I would like to hear from you.

Thanks much,

Mark

Replying to my own thread...

Just talked to my closest dealer and they offered to order and sell me the truck at invoice + any incentives. What do people think of that?

On a 2015? Sounds great, they don't have much play between dealer cost and invoice, maybe 2% max they recieve in holdbacks post sale...

Before seeing your above post and then editing I wrote the following:

you might have more of an issue negotiating on a 2015, I'm not sure you'll be able to count on the same type of incentives as some of the others have seen on their 2014's.

The only reason I say that is because RAM now knows they have a bonafide star on their hand at its heavily demanded, supply and demand would dictate no go. Then again I have no basis for this other than a gut feeling...
invoice +incentives is a good deal take it.

That is very true, 2014's are what they want to get rid of and will be easiest to negotiate. 2015's will be a matter of luck.
Try truecar or a similar website. Sometimes they will do better than invoice minus incentives by about $500 or more. Also do some searches for additional rebates. I got another $1k off of my truck since I'm a USAA insurance holder.

Hopefully you will be more successful than I was at getting a great deal on a special order. In the end I ended up buying a truck that was already in inventory. I saved about $5k over what it would have cost me to order the same truck.
I saw so many posts on forums where buyers were getting $10k off msrp. Granted they were for 2014's but best I'm seeing is about $5k off msrp which is just under invoice. There are no incentives right now. I'm ready to order. I feel that I've exhausted the search for the best price.
Its a popular truck that is brand new so I wouldn't expect to get many negotiated discounts really.
I think the incentives were to get rid of the remaining 2014's. I figure I got a really good deal on mine, but I don't think they were selling in my area. I know of one dealer in next town over that only got 1 and they still have it.
Like the idea you have. Think it's what all buyers should do.

Without a 2015 price it would not be reasonable to get exact figures. Invoice +- is fine if it suits you.

Getting a commitment on the inclusion of all incentives at time of delivery covers that end of it IF you can figure out what they are independent of the dealer telling you what they are.

Of course, trust is an issue there.

Check on any finance/pay-off incentives also that might come into play at delivery.

Welcome to the forum!
I ordered a 2015 ED Outdoorsman yesterday. The deal I made (and now I am questioning it....) is:
MSRP 51,370
FWP 46,910 - My price
+ $495 Dealer doc etc... Salesman's gotta make a living
includes a free LineX bed liner.

I was told that FWP is invoice. My sheet shows FFP off to the side at 46,516.

I receive any and all incentives at time of delivery. I am hoping that this is north of 2K but no promises from anyone.

What leaves you questioning the deal if you dont mind? Price sounds good fair. Bed liner tossed in negates the dealer doc fee IMO...
My questioning come from scattered talk on this and another forum about pricing a little below invoice plus incentives. I think when the truck arrives and I have a better idea of what additional incentives I qualify for I'll feel better. Talk is cheap and this dealer was pretty painless in terms of making the deal and while I like that, I think it can make you think that you could have done better.
