Hello All:

I have been following most of the threads on this forum for several weeks while I try to figure out from which dealer I am going to order a 2015 Laramie ED.

This is not really my first truck, I did own a Chevy LUV 35 years ago for a year or two.

My wife and I traveled in New Zealand for 6 weeks Dec/Jan this year. Four of those weeks were in Fiat diesel camper van. Fully loaded on hilly roads we got 25mpg! About 4 MPG better than the wife's Subaru. I also drive a diesel VW Jetta that I love.

So the plan is to buy a 2015 1500 ED just the way we want it and put a lightweight pop-up camper in the back as a more capable(and less expensive) alternative to a Ram/Mercedes camper.

I have a bunch of questions about anyone using a 1500ED with a camper pop-up camper, 4 corner suspension, payloads, etc... but I will save those for another thread.

New Zealand is a neat place. People are kind of too liberal for me but the land is oh so nice. Bet you had fun.

Put in a pop-up or whatever. It will work.

Welcome aboard MArk, glad you've found us. You're the first I've seen on the boards looking at a pop up camper, but I don't see why you should have any trouble with it!
