Consumer Reports Likes the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel

Consumer Reports starts off its short review of the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel by saying that it has the best fuel economy of any half-ton truck in the United States.

CR director Jake Fish says, "these are about the same fuel-economy numbers that we typically see in a mid-sized SUV. The Ram is currently the only truck to offer turbo-diesel technology. It will be interesting to see what impact it will have on the half-ton truck market."

The relatively quiet cabin for a large diesel vehicle was also praised.

THe official numbers say that the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel should get 28 mpg highway, but Consumer Reports hot 27 mpg highway. That is still really good though, and far more accurate than we've seen from some other models.

Saw the print article. This little video was new to me. Guy is right about a lot of things. Sure thing his summations are correct.

Thanks for sharing.
No problem. Glad to be of help.

Do you put a lot of trust in Consumer Reports reviews?
great little video about the ED from CR!
glad to see that they like it.
this whole thing with the teslas has dampened my enthusiasm for CR...
10%, Tesla is a brand of electric car. Need I say more.
hehhhh CR claimed Teslas were the most reliable car in the history of since EVER, however they promptly turned around and replaced the drive unit no less than 3 times. Imagine replacing your Engine three times in under a year of ownership...

So yea I'm not too happy with them anymore...
CR never said the Model S from Tesla was the most reliable car EVER. However, they did give the car its best rating ever (99/100), and said it was the best car they ever reviewed. That rating does not include reliability since that would be impossible to include as they give those ratings when the car comes out. A year after a vehicle comes out, they do give a reliability rating and the Model S scored Average on it. You should check your facts before getting upset... Consumer Report's website is not hard to find!

Tesla Model S Has Average Reliability - Consumer Reports News
So its the best car ever but it is only reliable an average amount of the time? Seems like it should be a bit more reliable to get such a high score.
Hopefully over time and they work out bug and rework thing we can see reliability go up.
With how successful the Ram Ecodiesel has been, I suspect they will put a lot of effort into upgrading it when the time comes.
