As a regular viewer and sometimes contributor to these forums, I have felt fortunate in that I am not experiencing the types of problems many of you are having. That said, I have spent more time at my dealership for non-routine maintenance of mostly minor, non-operational issues (e.g., poorly fit seat cover, headlight alignment problems, loose foglight, etc.). Generally takes a minimum of two visits for each issue because parts are never in stock. Most recently, the dealership did not have a fuel filter in stock so had to come back again to have that replaced (really?).
Well, after 30,000 miles on my truck it looks like I get to join the rest of you with more serious problems. The CEL came on last night (I'm typing this as I sit in the waiting room) and preliminary code scan is indicating the dreaded P020EE: emissions/DEF system/catalytic converter. So much for next week's planned vacation. Hoping my dealership will have learned lessons from others so that I do not go around and around and around as many of you have had to do.
Although I have really liked my Laramie EcoDiesel thus far, I'm starting to seriously reconsider the wisdom of my purchase. Perhaps I will walk over to the Ford and GM dealers that are across the parking lot while I wait...
