Buyers can still special order Ram 1500 diesel trucks. The primary constraint appears to be VM’s production limits; the Italian diesel engine company is expanding is capability, but it will take time to produce enough new engines for increasing American use. The V6 engines must be assembled with great precision, and VM appears unwilling to ramp up too quickly to maintain quality standards.
