hmmmm, lower mileage then a corroded alternator wire. I wonder if that can be diagnosed before failure. Is the alternator working harder to compensate for the corroded wire and using more fuel to do it?
I think it's something RAM should do a part of regular scheduled maintenance when they service our trucks if they don't already.

Then there's always dealing with stuff like this yourself which if you're even slightly mechanically inclined and willing to learn, it can pay off in the end.

You would think on a $53K truck these kinks would be well worked out by Dodge, its a shame, I love the truck, but should not have to worry about corroded wires 12 weeks out of the factory and cold weather affecting the electronics et...; and this is not something you should expect to have to do regularly, at least not maintenance on any vehicle I have owned over the last 45 years and I 've owned quite a few. I am mechanically inclined, but am not inclined to put up with this kind of crap for long. I'll trade it for a Chevy and never look back if that's the kind of reliability I have to depend on from Dodge....my 2010 Ram never had any issues, that's why I traded it for this 2014. I just hope these issues are behind me, especially with the cold and snowy northern NY winter ready to decend on us. I have owned a Chysler Minivan-Junk! A Jeep CJ-Real Junk! a 1988 Jeep Cherokee-sorta Junk!, and the 2010 Ram and now this one...hoping they reinstill my faith in their quality.:crying:
Unfortunately it seems like they just do what is enough for vehicles to be worthy for sale and then release them, which works out great as they can't take forever perfecting things.
