I recently have been reading the postings on lower mpg after around 4500 miles or so, I commented because I also just recently crossed that threshold and started seeing around 3 mpg loss down to 18.9 mpg around town driving....hope this is not a trend. What disturbed me most was what happened last week when on Monday my truck would not turn over, the EVIC was reading "Service 4 wheel drive system, " could not get it into nuetral, could not get it to do anything. My truck is 12 weeks old, I called Chrysler, they sent a tow truck, before I allowed him to tow it I asked him to jump it, with the started pak-nothing, all lights were on et...but when he hooked up the tow truck and jumped it, it started right up, more juice. Went straight to the dealers and he said as long as its running take it home and come back in the morning...my gut was to leave it, but it was late and I went home. Went to start it two hours later and sparks flew under the hood, I was using my remote start. It would not start, took the battery out to check it and charge it, read 12.2 volts (thats a 38% charge), charged it for two hours and tried again, nothing.

Took it back out and charged it overnight, tow truck came back in the morning, put the battery in and sparks flew but it started. Rode the tow truck to the dealer with it running, got to the dealer and did not dare turn it off, took it straight into the maintenance bay and the same thing, no start. They called me at noon to tell me it needed a new starter and would not have one for 4 days...on Friday they said it could be three more days, I complained and the owner made the service department get a new started off from a new truck on the lot, three hours later still no start, two more hours and they figured out it was a corroded cable from the alternator. I love the truck, but this was very disappointing and I hope it is not a trend either.>
