its an odd video because the reviewer is actually out and about in a 2500 yet speaking about the 1500, what they thought we wouldnt notice?

nice find! good old fashioned motorweek videos

there seem to be a lot of different rams in the video.

not all of them are 1500s and definitely not diesels.

here is a test drive I found - though from foxnews

also a video in there though.

The folks at Ram estimate about 10-15 percent of customers will go for the EcoDiesel, but the engine has been beating sales projections in the Grand Cherokee and seems even more appropriate tucked behind the 1500’s semi-truck-style grille, so they may be in for a pleasant surprise of their own.
I think the EcoDiesel is going to sell much better than they think.

its possible. I just don't like when they cite take rates in GC as the motivator. I mean take rates on a diesel GC come from much different motivators than a RAM. I've said it before, if its a pure economy play sure, but people who want to haul are not likely to opt for it just because of its diminished capabilities...
I also think the diesel will sell better, just going to have to play the waiting game to see what actually happens, they/we can only predict so much
I didn't think that the Diesel engine really sacrifices that much capability. Depends on exactly what you are planning to do with it, but I think most people will be happy with the amount it can tow, etc...

What do you think motivates people to buy the GC with the diesel engine? How is it different from the Ram EcoDiesel?

Thats how I see it too.
It will be those that need to tow big heavy loads that will need it, like people using it for their construction company for example
I just wish the markup for the diesel wasnt as high. If it was cheaper or the same price as the V8 it would probably sell much better.
