I think the EcoDiesel is going to sell much better than they think. The folks at Ram estimate about 10-15 percent of customers will go for the EcoDiesel, but the engine has been beating sales projections in the Grand Cherokee and seems even more appropriate tucked behind the 1500’s semi-truck-style grille, so they may be in for a pleasant surprise of their own.
its possible. I just don't like when they cite take rates in GC as the motivator. I mean take rates on a diesel GC come from much different motivators than a RAM. I've said it before, if its a pure economy play sure, but people who want to haul are not likely to opt for it just because of its diminished capabilities...nice find! good old fashioned motorweek videos
there seem to be a lot of different rams in the video.
not all of them are 1500s and definitely not diesels.
here is a test drive I found - though from foxnews
Test Drive: 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel | Fox News
also a video in there though.
I think the EcoDiesel is going to sell much better than they think.
Thats how I see it too.I didn't think that the Diesel engine really sacrifices that much capability. Depends on exactly what you are planning to do with it, but I think most people will be happy with the amount it can tow, etc...
What do you think motivates people to buy the GC with the diesel engine? How is it different from the Ram EcoDiesel?
