As a reader of this forum, you are undoubtedly aware of the existence of the Ford F-150 EcoBoost. It is the chief rival of the Ram 1500 Ecodiesel.
With the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, the Ford F-150 will cost you $35,500. The Ram 1500 EcoDiesel will come up to $37,915. That means that the Ram 1500 costs $2,615 more than the Ford F-150 EcoBoost.
The Ford F-150 has a lot more horse power than the Ram 1500; 365 hp and 240 hp respectively. But in terms of torque, the two trucks both record 420 lb-ft.
The last measure is fuel economy. The Ford F-150 comes in at 23 MPG, while the Ram 1500 comes in at 28 MPG.
So the two trucks are quite well matched. I have a feeling it will take a lot to take the Ford F-150 off its pedestal though. That is one popular truck.
