Not happy that this happened but it looks like you're getting taken care of.
As far as picking a different manufacture, I think that if you go to any of the other MFG enthusiast forums you will find someone with a catastrophic failure, and probably some chronic issues as well.
The ecodiesel is a very small part of the entire RAM population. We have a real focus on this site on one segment of one manufacturer so problems will look larger than they are. ( not counting this blown intercooler ).
