Hello everyone, I just bought my Ram 1500 Ecodiesel. This is my first experience with Dodge. A little about where come from vehicle wise and why I bought an Ecodiesel.
First where I came from vehicle wise. I just sold my 2008 Ford F-250 6.4 Powerstroke. The truck was a powerhouse and it loved to drink the fuel. Okay up until the time I did the DPF delete and chipped it. Before that I always had Toyota's last prior to the F-250 was a 04 Tundra. The Tundra was a great truck and regret everyday trading it in.
So, why did I go with the Ecodiesel? First off I was never looking at a Ram. I was going back to a Tundra. Wow those are very expensive but they hold their value. I was not impressed by the options available especially on the inside. I figured that a vehicle that costs $45,000 should have a little more toys on the inside. However I was going to buy one anyways. I stumbled upon the Ecodiesel on the net and started researching. I started thinking this was what I wanted, half ton truck with the reliability of a diesel engine.
Yesterday I went to a Dodge dealership that had 2 Ecodiesels to test drive one. The one I wanted sold right in front of my face. Atleast they had a second one for me to test drive. It was not my color and lacked a few options. The sales man was great to deal with. We took it for a test drive and I fell in love with the truck. Plenty of power for me with a smooth and quite ride. Upon returning to the lot, he began looking for me another truck and I later left the dealership empty handed as he continued his search for me. Last night my wife and I were searching the net I found another one that had everything I wanted on it. I emailed the dealership and they responded promptly. I called them this morning to check on the vehicle and it was still there. We did a few number crunches and walla I was putting a deposit on it via CC. They just received it 2 days ago (Saturday afternoon) so apparently the first salesman could not see it. I called the first salesman to inform him I had bought one somewhere else and to thank him for searching for me. Needless to say he was a little upset with me. However watching the one I wanted sell right in front of me and reading that they don't sit long on the lots I did what I had to.
Today is Monday and I have worked out the loan with my credit union and can't wait till Wednesday morning to pick up my new truck. I wish I didn't have to work tomorrow. The dealership is over 1.5 hours away from me so today is out. I will post more later but here is some dealership pictures of the truck.
