has anyone installed a K&N filter? I know that they allow more air, they also pass very fine dust particles (I've seen this in other engines I've used K&N on)

will it void the warranty?

It shouldn't, but why would you want to use a filter that lets that much dirt in? If you're looking to improve air intake I'd look at AFE or S&B CAI. They have a bigger filtering surface which will allow for better air flow and +/= to stock filtering. With that said, stock intake is pretty efficient and I wouldn't mess with it until the turbo is upgraded and can actually use the extra air.

Hey, I would like to get feedback about this filter. I also need to change the filter, but I don't know which one is better. What do you recommend? I also have a question about the ozone generator. If someone used it to disinfect the car and get rid of the unpleasant odor, share your experience. I recently read an article on Damage Control-911 and think this is a good way to solve these problems. Do you have a personal ozone generator or did you order this service at a car wash? I am interested to find out if this really works and what is more profitable-to buy your own generator or order this service?

You don't say what engine you have. Regardless, don't go K&N.

GDE Tuning said, "We do not recommend K&N style filtration on a turbocharged engine.
The hi-flow filters do have less pressure drop, but they let larger particles through the media.
These particles can reduce turbo compressor life over time.
Naturally aspirated engines can eat the larger particles without major issues.
The stock airbox is more than adequate for the Ecodiesel."

Hi, ozone generator gets rid of foul odors. It is very effective, I had mine done by a detailer. It had cigarette/smoke odors, it was interior detailed and it comes with the package. Very effective.

Hi BlakeParson, in case you haven't replaced your filter. Try to read this article review for RAM. It should help you choose which one you think is best for your RAM.

K&N filters can cause the early death of a diesel engine.
If properly cleaned and oiled they are not bad for a gas engine, the problem is most people don't maintain them properly.

With a CTD we have found the OEM air filtering is actually better for mpg than a CAI.
I used a K&N CAI with an additional S&B filter, so I always had a clean, properly oiled filter ready when it was time to change.
After about 5 years, the attitude changed about using CAI from many people that really paid attention to the functionality of them vs OEM with the new 4" thick filters.
So I reinstalled the OEM Box and added a DPP Cool Hose and picked up just shy of 1.5 mpg.

I know this is a different type of diesel engine, but it still uses a turbo, just something to think about before falling for all the salesmanship BS.
