Laramie Long Horn Running Boards

My girlfriend has a horrible time getting out of my Laramie Long Horn 4X2. The stock painted running board doesn't come out very far to allow her shoe good solid footing to exit without sliding down the seat. Has anyone extended the running boards out more to allow one's shoe more room while exiting? She is not short - I'm taller, but not by much & sometimes it's difficult for me to get out. Any help is appreciated.

The air suspension would have been a great solution but of course now too late. Might look into the retractable running boards. I think they offer a wider than normal platform. They're a little pricey but if the girlfriend is a keeper it will be a good investment!! Good luck.
Great point about air suspension, that is one of the reason's i would get it, for easier entry/exit for my passengers as an added luxury, plus it's cool seeing it go up and down :D

Ecodiesels are in short supply and there were none to be had with the air suspension. I looked at a Hemi with the air suspension and it was nice, but it was really, really slow. At the time, I didn't feel it was worth holding out for. I like the boards that came with it, I would be interested in retrofitting some type of spacer that would move them out an inch or two.
You're right, it is painfully slow. I think you're probably on the right track. A good fabricator should be able to extend them & add some additional bracing.
I think you're right Hershey, custom is realistically the most cost efficient and logical angle. Especially if its little more than a bracket...

I think you should change the running board and you can read this to guide you on what running boards will be perfect for you and your girlfriend.
