Looking for comparison with 24V Cummins engine

Hello, I currently have a 1999 Ram 2500 quad cab 4x4 with the 5.9 24V Cummins engine. The Ecodiesel makes nearly identical power numbers and the 1500 weighs nearly the same weight as my truck. Aside from the payload being much lower and the towing capacity being a bit lower than my current truck, has anyone here owned both vehicles to give a comparison of the two? I'm looking to trade mine in for an Ecodiesel, but I was wondering if the power seems identical, or if one is stronger than the other for some reason.
