maintenance items

So looking around the WWW for maintenance items (filters/oil/etc) for the 3.0 and seems and it seems that the jeep forums are the best place to look when it comes to real world situations w/ the ecodiesel. There are a few sites in Australia as well.
Anyway, came across this website: Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - Maintenance information and schedules

Then clicked on engine oil/filters to this which sure looks like a fuel filter. http://www.wk2jeeps.com/engine/68109834AA_oil_filter_01.jpg

??

Guess I'll keep diggin'

Also look out for vendors appearing on this forum, i notice on forums some vendors tend to give good member prices, hoepfully that happens here
Well, that makes sense, now. This could be a wee bit messier.
Yep, you can see the oil canister where the drop in filter will go.

well considering noone has the 1500 diesel yet if you want to stock up on filters just buy the GC diesel ones.

though I'd wait.. once the ram diesel IS out I'm sure we will see more vendors carrying maintenance items for this engine. I'm sure the diesel ram will outsell the diesel gc.
with the Ram diesel being out it should hopefully lower the price of products seeing how it's adding way more buyers to that part of the market.
yep. bring in more parts for this motor. hopefully the increase in competition in parts being carried will lower prices.

hopefully, the more out their the better.
and 10-15 years down the road we can get a whole engine for dirt cheap

FYI - Oil filters for the Grand Cherokee will not fit the Ram 1500 3.0L.

That's interesting. Most of the articles I've read says it's the same engine. It's tuned a bit differently so maybe that's why it needs a different filter.
Hmm interesting

Maybe they are just different part numbers.

I guess I won't know until I see it
There are O-rings in different places between the two.
Using one in the other will result in no oil pressure.

That looks quite similar to the oil filter housing that is found in my Sprinter. I make less of a mess changing the oil in that vehicle than I do on one of the domestics.
well that is a good thing. i've dealt with too many engines that had their oil filters tucked in the most inconvenient places ever.

tell me about it, and working on it yourself in your drive way or garage without a hydraulic lift makes it worst with the awkward hand position.
i dont really find myself needing a lift. im not a huge guy so i can fit under the car. i also have some nice ramps i got so if its really tight in there i just drive up the ramps

Ramps help!

I just hate the awkward position you have to be in when laying under.
