Getting ready to purchase an ecodiesel but want auto 4x4. I noticed it is not available on the tradesman. I looked through the brochures and online and can't determine what trim level this feature becomes available at. Is it worth the grade? Thanks.

Just my .02....i can't answer the first part of your question, but to the last part I think it's personal preference. I have it in my laramie, but I wouldn't have bought a limited just to get auto 4x4 if that was the case. Alot of features are going auto these days (lights, high beams, wipers, etc.) and I personally don't know if 4x4 is a deal breaker. Yes it will be nice to just put it in auto, but in my last trucks that I had I simply threw it in 4 high if it was a little cruddy. Hope someone can give u info on what package it's available & if the cost isn't ridiculous go for it. If that next package is gonna cost you a few thousand dollars I don't think I would do it. Good luck!

I own a tradesman 4x4 diesel. So who ever said you can't make one is lieing to you. Now if you are talking about a regular cab then you need the 8ft box to get the ecodiesel.

I agree, I wouldn't lose out on a deal just because of the auto. My last 2 4X4's were auto, but I never put in auto unless it was getting bad, I would just put in high now, don't see the difference and think you will get better mileage, in 2X4 than auto. I know I kept forgetting them in AUTO so costing more gas. MY 2 cents
