Just my .02....i can't answer the first part of your question, but to the last part I think it's personal preference. I have it in my laramie, but I wouldn't have bought a limited just to get auto 4x4 if that was the case. Alot of features are going auto these days (lights, high beams, wipers, etc.) and I personally don't know if 4x4 is a deal breaker. Yes it will be nice to just put it in auto, but in my last trucks that I had I simply threw it in 4 high if it was a little cruddy. Hope someone can give u info on what package it's available & if the cost isn't ridiculous go for it. If that next package is gonna cost you a few thousand dollars I don't think I would do it.
