Top of the line versus top of the line. Both will be available with diesels when the time comes. For now lets investigate what $50,000 gets you in a pickup truck...

Laramie Limited: $48,265

plush and luxurious inside disguises the torque twisting nature of the RAM 1500. Swathed in leather contrasted by medium graystone piping and additional accents. Double stitched center console houses all your amenities, while the wheel and gear selector have also been wrapped in soft leather. Oh and dont forget the door trim, arm rests and instrument panel, all leather bound. Is that enough leather for you?

LEDs light the interior door handles, high gloss piano black trim on the center console accented by liquid graphite bezels and chrome ringed vents. Premium berber carpet floor mats with greystone stitching for you to berate with your muddy boots and brushed silver door sills round out the package.








Toyota Tundra 1794: $46,034

Toyotas attempt to Americanize the Tundra. Already the Tundra was the largest and most powerful half ton in class, but that didnt matter. It didnt fit with the American image. Well, after watching the success of the F-150 King Ranch and the RAM Laramie Longhorn Toyota decided to do a western of their own. Essentially the same truck as the Tundra Platinum, just swapping the dark urban motif of the Platiunum for brown perforated leather buckets with suede inserts, heated and ventilated seats and a plethora of wood inserts. If you want the truth it seems that Toyota raided the Lexus parts bins and crafted an interior worthy of their upscale marquee. Tundra continues to hold the title of largest pickup in class, its no joke either. Sit in one, I dare you not to get lost...








Not a bad way to blow $50K, which way would you go?

The Toyota interior is far nicer, i guess it helps that they have a Luxury brand and some of the interior features have been trickled down from it.

I like the Tundra interior. Always have.

The Ram interior is pretty nice too. Looks like they have a briefcase built into the back hehe

In all fairness neither of these trucks is going to do ANY work. They're pure bling... What trim pacakge you guys looking for with your EcoDiesel?

TBH I'm really considering either the Outdoorsman or the Big Horn. The Outdoorsman costs $5K more but the big horn has a better interior...

It's times like this when I wish Chrysler, Ram, or even some Luxury brand they could own or start would make a luxurious version of it's trucks. Like how Lincoln has Ford based trucks

Interior on the Lincoln truck is amazing

it says 1794. Its the date the Ranch the current Tundra production facility is built on was founded...

I don't really get the point in getting a truck that is this luxe. Trucks are for work and I think that they just look ridiculous and out of place with such a nice interior. There is a way to make a nice interior on a truck without making it look like it should be in a luxury sedan. Maybe that is what people are going for though.

Why not have luxury features? People use trucks for day to day use in every day life, not just for work. For some it's a mix or work and play. Might as well be in luxury and enjoy your work even more.

Exactly.

This is now the norm now. The market is also competitive so they almost have no choice but to include more premium features to +1 up over the other guy

Why not have luxury features? People use trucks for day to day use in every day life, not just for work. For some it's a mix or work and play. Might as well be in luxury and enjoy your work even more.
My truck is strictly for Work. Hauling freight across Minnesota, whether bed and cab full or trailer in tow. Not to mention boat dogs and anything else when there's free time. I do a lot of driving with my truck. And I'll enjoy plopping my ass into my saddle leather Longhorn seats a **** of a lot more than I could anything else. And with 2k of cargo in the truck REGULARLY the air suspension was a must. I average around 24-25MPG and that includes all towing which is 35% of my driving. 75% is highway mileage.

All I've ever gotten out of my EVIC is the inability to change to offroad or entry ride height due to payload. Still goes into Aero even with 2300# a full tank of fuel and 2 people.

That beats the **** out of my 700# rated payload.

And can't beat the comfort when doing so.

I basically live in my truck. And I got exactly what I wanted to do so.
