...and they are wondering if they will be able to meet demand!

From Dave Sowers, RAM Chief of Marketing:

“Since we announced this, the level of enthusiasm that we have heard from consumers and consumers via our dealers has been almost unprecedented, We did not get this many questions about when, where, how, who, when we launched the all-new 2013 (Ram) truck. We are launching an all-new engine and the phone is ringing off the hook, basically.”
RAM was expecting a 10-15% uptake rate on the EcoDiesel but this spike in interest could lead to supplier constraints. Already the 3.0 6 Cylinder EcoDiesel made by VM Motori is relied upon for the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Maserati Ghibli....

So it sounds like the problem is going to be making sure production is able to keep up with demand. The crap part about that is that dealers might ratchet up the price of the 1500 Eco Diesel simply because there is enough demand that someone will buy it even at a higher price.

@Panther Dash Yup! Fear the price mark up's, but by how much would you expect them to mark up the 1500's by? a few thousand?

Dealer mark ups are terrible, but I understand it from a business stand point. I would probably rather wait it out till the price goes down to where it should be instead of paying extra to have it right away.

Do you think that diesel would be equally as popular in cars if they offered more of them?
