Drove a Laramie with all the goodies minus the ram box. I have a ford ecoboost and love the power and zoom but not many bells and whistles. They originally said $53 k for the truck. So I test drove it about 25 miles.. I got it up to 105 mph and was basically full throttle much of the time. I averaged 21 mpg which I was SUPER impressed with considering it was at 3500' elevation and I wasn't easy on it at all. While its no ecoBOOST its not bad at all and I know my ecoboost would have averaged about 12 driving the way I was. The truck drove super nice and loved all the gadgets. So we went back and talked price, the lowest they would come down to was $49k but very good trade on my truck$28,000. I didn't do it. So, I started price checking dealers in Oregon, Idaho and Washington. After 2 weeks I ordered a truck 2 days ago. Laramie 4x4 3.55 gears all the goodies minus side steps, rain sensitive wipers, bed liner and tonneau cover(trying to add it tomorrow I think). But after much back and forth and 5 dealerships I got my truck ordered finally with an MSRP of 50,215 and agreed price after all the deductions is $40,600 and they offered me 28,000 for my trade which is about 4,000 less total difference in price when you consider trade vs price of the new truck that any other dealership offered. They said they were taking about a 3,500 loss but needed the order to make their bonus???? non the less my only worry at this time is the rebate of 2,500, they said if the rebate goes down my price goes up because the rebate is only good at time of delivery. Anyone else heard of that??
So, I am super stoked about the truck and already dreading the long wait.. they said about 2 months (hoping that's correct but know it may be longer). I did do away with the 20'' tires and rims. priced out replacement NON P rated tires (I drive in the woods) and they are way to expensive so saved $425 off invoice for the 17'' tires.
Does anyone have the stock tonneau cover?? If so, do you like it?

rebates are locked in at time of order. If they tell you it is not they are plain flat out lying to you. Now if the incentives are better when the truck is delivered you can take the better incentive. So in other words it's the better of either one at time of order or at time of delivery. The only thing that might differ is financing incentive.

6 to 8 weeks is normal delivery but you have to keep in mind sometimes there are strikes like the shipping strike just getting over.

I have the factory tonneu cover and at first I did not think I would like it but I have driven with it for 3 months and I actually do like it. It folds in three sections which the first section behind the cab does not fold up so if you need to haul something full length taller than the bed you will have to remove the tonnau cover. 4 lever latches are built into the cover and there are dowels for alignment so when you put the cover back on it's a perfect fit. Takes less than 5 minutes to takeoff and less than 5 minutes to put back on.

Thanks for the info.. searched all the videos I could find and not one of the factory tonneau cover. Today I asked the dealer to add it to the order but no word as of yet.. grrrr.. Did they tell you how long your wait is and how long did it take you to get a vin number? So, I saw that you have the 5.7 in a 2014, what kind of fuel mileage did you see? The dealership's salesmen all told me that the know of ppl getting 25 mpg and really wanted to sell me a hemi... but for 2,800 bucks more I went with the eco.. I typically trade my trucks off after a couple of years and was thinking I might make quite a bit more when I tradeit in on my next truck vs the gasser.
I ordered my gas 1500 the middle of December and took delivery the end of January. Long story short I should have waited for the ecodiesel but thought I would be happy with a gas truck again. Well I'm trading my gas truck back in on the ecodiesel I have on order, $2,000 lessen. I should have known I wouldn't like a gas truck after driving diesels for so many years.

You should get a VOT at time of order and a VIN in less then a week, usually a couple days.

New the 5.7 was getting 14 MPG. now with warmer weather, 5,000 miles and summer gas I'm at 17.5 and I drive just about all the time for MPG. Guys reporting MPG on the internet are just guys on the internet, you know what they say about the internet. LOL. www.fuelly.com and research the vehicle fuel mileage your interested in is the truest. Dealerships will lie to you until you ask them to put it in writing. Even the V6 gas engines have a hard time getting 25 MPG with most of them less.

Your making a good a pretty safe bet that in a couple years the ecodiesel will be worth more money. I totally agree.

thanks for the info.. Ive been on vacation for a couple of days hence the late reply.. Ya, I didn't think the hemi would get that 25 like the salesman claimed..
I ordered mine 5/24. They said 8-10 weeks. I test drove the 5.7 and test drove the Grand Cherokee ecodiesel since they didn't have a RAM with one. Hands down the diesel got me!

Ordered 4x4 crew cab Tradesman, ecodiesel, 3.55, 17" wheels, longbed, white.

Thanks! The time has finally come to get a new truck. I've been driving a 1988 Toyota 4x4 since Nov. 1987. I have 477k on it. It'll be nice to fit my wife and kids into something comfortable.
So, No bed cover.. they said that the factory took off that option too... grrr .. So, the update thing you are supposed to be able to check to see the status of your build is down.. You have to call them and they will give you and update.. I have yet to get an email about the status of the truck so I called last week and they said its on the build schedule but no estimated time of delivery.. OMG..
