Just traded my 2013 Ram 1500 Hemi in for an Ecodiesel, wanted better gas mileage. Having nothing but issues with it. Not even a month old and it broke down on the side of the road. Took it into the dealer last week for same issue they didn't do anything to address the problem. When I have about 100 miles left in the tank its hard to start, check engine light comes on, and stalls out. Not sure if anybody else has experienced the problem, but there was a great review on Edmunds about the same exact issue im having. I even gave the dealer the article to read about the issue. Dealing with Ram service is HORRIBLE!!!

What model specifically did you buy? What dealer? What article on Edmunds? Some details would be nice so we know you are a real person with real issues

I bought the lone star edition from Orlando, Fl. If you search Ram ecodiesel fuel problem the article will show up on Google.

Finally found out today what is wrong with the vehicle. Fuel pump in the truck is bad and needs to be replaced. Found out that part is also on back order for two weeks. I was told by the service manager the truck will work if I go out and buy a fuel container and bring some diesel to the truck!!! Thats how RAM takes care of there customers. Still haven't heard from corporate regarding the issue. Im not sure to get a replacement or get my money back, by the time the truck is finally fixed im sure it will fall into LEMON LAW.

Be patient I had an exhaust leak and it took 3 trips and several months of back ordered parts but now it's fixed and I just did a 180mi round trip and just ticked in at 33mpg. I now have 12k plus miles and love the truck.
I drove with my air on recirc so I would not get the odor in my cab. If your only having the issue when below a quarter tank I'd just keep it full till the new fuel pump comes in. Or demand a loaner vehicle and make them pay since it's warranty work. While it sucks getting a brand new vehicle and it has issues, even worse is the back order of parts but I'm not so sure you would be 100% safe with any other make. If you read the BB of other makes you'll see they all have issues and they all have pissed off customers. Be mature, be patient and then get something out of it.
Just some words of advice from a 50 yr. old. I have been around the block so many times I've worn a path.

Sadly this is part of being an early adopter we have to deal with issues like this within longer than normal time frames, but it pays off in the end, have to pay our dues :D

Wouldn't it be easier to bring the truck to the fuel? I find it much more convenient to pull up to the pumps instead of pouring out of a can.0:)
Sorry, I had to.

I bought an ED 2 weeks ago and have put on 1300 miles already. Mixed driving and highway. Flawless so far knock on wood. One thing is certain. Something to monitor regens is a must for any 2011 or newer diesel. I just took a 500 mile trip today and witnessed one regen on the road and one started just before I got home. I would have shut the truck down not knowing the difference without seeing the high EGT on the Scangauge II that I installed last weekend. Money well spent.

I am just a hair shy of 20,000 miles on my truck. It has been fantastic. I will do my second oil change next week and will change the rear diff oil. I have changed my fuel filter at 15,000 just to make sure it was good. The truck has performed flawlessly. I do miss my Hemi though...;)

Flawless

I've had my Eco-diesel for a year and 2 wks. Have 16k on it and it has been flawless. My wife and I both love it. My brother has one also, received it two weeks later, and has had two or three different fuel problems but after receiving and repaired no problems. Just my 2 cents.
