not personally but a buddy of mine has one on his F150, never heard him say anything negative about them. I'll give him a shout and see what he has to say :D

Actually even fire a message off to Dagotto hes got an ARE top on his.. http://www.dieselramforum.com/forum...here-folks-ecodiesels-hiding-2.html#post24657
I haven't had one myself but I've seen other people with them. I haven't heard anything bad about them. people tend to b happy with them. There are also plenty of different options so I'm sure you'll be able to find something you like.

What kind of shell are you looking for your Ram Ecodiesel?
I knew a couple of guys with them and they never had a single complaint.
I was looking at this one Dodge : Ram : On Your Truck : A.R.E. Truck Caps and Tonneau Covers Its pictured on a Longhorn and looks good. My Eco is a white/ silver combo Laramie
That does actually look pretty good, would be great to see it completely closed up too .
Have it on my 08, they are fine, the only issue is that they do not open fully if you need to transport say a fridge or washing machine. But it certainly does keep out the weather to protect some of my expensive gear. It also gives you a few more inches than the rolling aluminum covers.
Glasstite Caps/Shells

Take a look at these. They have ones that open the whole back end of the shell so you can slide in anything that will fit the height of the shell. Pretty cool. Very well made and of course expensive. http://literature.puertoricosupplier.com/015/SD14960.pdf
No pic yet, but had an ARE LSX installed on Tuesday with a Bedrug. Love it. My truck is White with Bright Silver Met trim and I went with the Silver for the topper. Will post a photo as soon as it stops hailing around here. $1650.00 installed and out the door.
Sorry, I went with the Tonneau and not the full shell.

Are

Also have the side Sportsman Window that opens so I can get access to my extra 20 gal. fuel tank.

Seems fine.

I've ordered an A.R.E V-Series cap for my Ram. Will be the 2nd 1 i owned. Never had a bit of problem with the first one. 1 nice thing about the A.R.E. is you can use your truck key with the cap lock. A.R.E also does a good job at paint matching.
Their match of the Prairie Pearl was a tiny bit dark and also a tiny bit off with the metallic. I thought that was good.

Mine is one of the first Ecodiesel pickups made. Think the color was available earlier in other models. Not sure as others told me it was "different". They did the color off the color code number.

Cap World replaced the original flip-up window. Original one would slip in the track and jam. New window is pinned differently and seems fine. Sure is a nice feature when getting things out of the truck bed or fuelling.
the color match issue is why i like to go for more simple colors as it's harder for them to mess up, like white for an example.
Agree. Made a mistake and let my wife pick out the color. Shows I'm human. My motto is to never let them make one decision or they're gonna' want to make two.

White is my favorite. White is right. Only thing there is it's the color of a company truck. Tried to impress a lady years ago and she blew me off because to her, I was just a worker driving a company truck.

Color is really not important, as long as it's not black. That's stupid hot and hard to clean properly. Other than that, what's important is something that gets you from point A to point B and then back. That's as long as the wife will let you back and you want to go there.

PIP liked using a truck key with the cap lock. Not sure that's possible now with that computer thing called a "key". The other key for the door locks might be made to work. Never was told that so mine is a separate key for both locks on the side window and the rear window.

Don't lock it anyhow and actually removed the locking fuel cap from the extra bed tank because I am leery of having all kinds of keys.

Remember, top management carries no keys. The janitor has huge packs of them hanging from his belt.
Picked up my truck a little over a week ago and I did get the ARE shell. Its hooked up to the trailer here (14ft ~3500lbs) Got 18.8mpg first time I towed mostly freeway about 100 miles and got 16.2mpg with heavy city mix the other day about 100 miles. Wish the mpg was a little higher on both but still happy with the purchase and like the ARE
