Towing Scenario, Insights/Feedback Wanted

Considering buying a 1500 4x4 diesel crew cab to tow a 24’ toy hauler est. 6,000 lbs fully loaded (lightest tandem axle TH I could find). Running the numbers, the GVW doesn’t look good but my husband and I have a hard time believing this truck wouldn’t be able to handle it.

Towing will primarily be weekend trips to nearby locations, however we will be taking one cross-country, one-way road trip (without ~500 lb ATV) as we relocate to Alaska (not driving the Alcan Hwy).

What say the experts?

RAM 1500 BH Crew 4x4 EcoDiesel
(GVWR 6,950/ Max Payload 1,400/ MaxTR 7,600/ GCWR 13,750)*
Est. GVW: 7,130
+ 5,550 Curb Weight
+ 600 Est. Payload (2 adults, 1 toddler, 2 dogs)
+ 780 Tongue Weight (13%)
+ ~200 bed cap/cover

GCW of whole rig = 13,130

*Specs pulled from RAM online manuals, but I understand every truck varies a bit.
