Ok, so i went in yesterday to order my Lonestar Ecodiesel...the manager gets behind the computer to start my order and "Boom" not taking orders till after January was the message. It would not even let him access the site to inquire about an ecodiesel....so i guess i'll wait ???:(

Holy schmoly, That's one popular truck.
We were truck shopping in July, and by early August we figured out that we wanted the ED. Walked into the showroom, and no orders were being taken. Living in SoCal, we were willing to buy in Las Vegas Nevada, but ran into the same thing. Then got the call back in early September that we could order our truck. So it must be some kind of allotment control thing but not sure. But for us it's worth the wait. Also keep in mind that there's usually a plant closing between Christmas and New Year.
Our truck is slated for mid November, but is currently in 'storage' so don't even know if mid-November will hold. Point is if I had to wait longer for an ED I ABSOLUTELY WOULD! So be patient, because it's the only light duty diesel truck on the market, and when you factor in the coil sprung rear, nice interior and exterior, 8-speed tranny, it becomes a no-brainer!

I ordered mine on July 5, just picked it up yesterday and I live about a 6 hour drive from the plant. Waiting was tough, but I plan to have this truck for a long time so I'm glad I ordered exactly the options that are important to me.
There has been problems with demand outpacing supply. They are working on the problem though -- increasing demand.

Are you going to be able to wait till January?
Just called my salesman and he was able to do build an ecodiesel just fine, he went all the way to, but obviously held short of, the submit order button.
Why not use the "submit order" button?

First post - Welome. You already own an Eco?

Real surprise there is a hold on ordering. Knew there was a demand but many dealers had some in stock. Demand must not be meeting supply. Try different dealers.
I ordered on 10/8, no problems, have a build date of 11/10.

All in all, the vehicles are pretty scarce around here.

He held short as i have not given him the go ahead yet, want to see what happens to the incentives on the 4th and i need to get him a $500 check. :D
sounds like you need another dealer, that or the specfic config you want is unavail...
I didn’t have to put a deposit down when I ordered. The dealer has nothing to lose with ordering an ED, if I don’t buy it, there are probably 10 behind me who will.

Ruval, The incentives won't happen until the truck is actually delivered to the dealer. So you actually won't know what your incentives will be until your ordered ED (or if the dealer gets one in) physically arrives to the dealer. At that point you will receive the incentives currently available. Or if the dealer is willing to work with you, they could potentially hold the truck till the end of the month to see what incentives will be available for the next upcoming month from corporate.

That's what I thought also. Incentives are at the time of delivery by the manufacturer. What they might be in January is probably speculation. Maybe none?

My dealer will quote me the incentives at the time of order and go with whichever incentive is greater at the time of sale. :D
I ordered last July but the first dealer I went to told me the order window was closed and I had to pick from the lot. I started looking around for the truck I wanted an while talking to another dealer, I learned the order window was still open at that time so I went with them and ordered what I wanted.

Moral is, ask a bunch of dealers the same questions and see who gets closest to the answers you're looking for.
