why does dodge says 40 mpg for the ram 1500 ecodiesel on their website. it has a number 2 beside but you can`t get to the terms of use to find out qhat does it means,I think dodge canada wants to make us think that you will get 40 MPG, that to me is scam, they should be taken to court , that is the only reason why i would not buy anything from a dishonest brand:cool:

What kind of gallon are they talking about?

An Imperial gallon is larger than a regular gallon. I showed 33 mpg (regular SAE gallon) on a short run today. I have seen it hold higher than that if I run 60 mph on country roads for as much as 50 miles one time. Flat running it was with very little traffic here in South Florida.

It's possible with an Imperial Gallon.

Thought you Canuks run KM's per liter. Bet you get 40 KM's per Imperial gallon easily.

This is correct, 1 us gal is 3.785 litres and one imp gal is 4.546 litres. 40 miles per imperial gallon is what they are quoting in Canada and people are getting close to it in real world reports.

LMFAO

They are using the imperial gallon.

Is this post a joke or are you really that misinformed?

Would not call that misinformed. Maybe misled based on information available or background knowledge.

Friend is quite informed on many things. Last year he bought a Ford Ecoboost. I rode with him as he pulled his travel trailer to the hunting camp. He was informed it towed well. He was informed it had power. He was misled.

It did tow well once we added premium fuel on the way. Regular fuel had him slowed and I did hear a loud knock under load. You need to pay for premium. Misleading.

It towed with power and added noise. Engine operated at a rather high rpm with a bit of noise in the cab. Distracting but it did tow. Towed at around 7 mpg. Did tow.

Misleading advertising? That's better than misinformed as it places the blame on the manufacturer rather than the customer.

Oh - he had and still has turbo issues with power and response in the rain. Taken it back multiple times for engine/turbo work.

Dodge does NOT make the Ecodiesel Ram. Dodge division of Chrysler only makes cars. They got out of making trucks a couple years ago and opened up the Ram division of Chrysler/Fiat to handle production and marketing of the trucks. There are no new Dodge trucks.
