I had dealer quotes ranging from $190 to $260, so I bought a filter off eBay and had a local shop change it for me for $85, which is less than the dealer wanted for just the oil. Hopefully the price will come down as aftermarket filters and additional approved oils become available. They used Kendall GT-1 Euro, which meets the ACEA C3 and Chrysler MS_11106 requirements.

No one locally sells any brand of oil that meets Chrysler's specifications. The one exception is the local Dodge Dealer who sells the Pennzoil for $11.13 per quart and only sells quarts. I would really like to find gallon containers - any suggestions?

I just bought factory fill pennzoil ultra euro L off Amazon for 88.04 including shipping for (2) 6 packs of quarts. The better news is there are rebates on the bottles for 10.00 when you buy 5 or more quarts. So that's 20.00 in rebates! !

Wow, That's a deal. I would stock up. No such luck in Canada though.

Quote myself here - I've been hunting for this oil in Ontario and I found an oil dealer that can sell it. It comes in something called an EcoBox, that's 22.7 litres for $212 so that's $9.30 per litre. Best I've found so far. On top of that there is no echofee because it's a cardboard box and a plastic bag with a spigot similar to the way wine comes in a box. Since the valve keeps the bag air tight, you can keep the oil on the shelf as long as you want.

In Ontario we're charged $.16 per liter to pay for the disposal of the plastic jug, that's the ecofee.

Oil and filter and tire rotation at the dealer plus 4 gallons of DEF was $265 CDN. I'll let the dealer do the first couple of oil changes in case I run into any of the early problems so they can't tell me I used the wrong def or oil or whatever. I've got a line on some penzoil in 10 litre boxes that's a little cheaper and I expect the oil filter to be available in the aftermarket eventually. Then I'll start doing my own oil changes.

Interesting think with my DEF gauge. I was just under 1/4 on my first tank of DEF by the time I needed an oil change. It has been < -20 C for a number of weeks here in southern Ontario. I put in 4 gallons of DEF from the dealer and the gauge never moved. Temperature came up to +2C a couple of days later then the gauge moved up to just under 3/4 as I expected. I guess the sensor was frozen. I'm glad I didn't have an issue with the performance of the truck due to lack of DEF.

I paid $200 plus tax at local dealer. I was already there having the recall rear suspension work being done. I was at 7,000 miles. Needless to say, the next oil change will be done in my driveway. I am really curious about the different brands and their reliability. I came from a 6.4 Powerstroke with DPF delete completed. I was using Rotella T in that truck.

So I haven't received the coupons yet but my dealer sold me 10 changes and 10 rotations for $449 USD. This is an add on option to the Chrysler Maximum Care warranty.

I still need to check the fine print but I think that this is just a way to get me into the dealership to form that post warranty "relationship" :)

I'll let you know once I get the documentation if it's for real or a scam.
