Where is the engine block heater attachment?

I just bought a 3.0 1500 CrewCab Laramie. Great truck!!! After reading through the manual, I am confused about whether this diesel has a block heater. Nothing in the Window Sticker mentions it.

Anyone know where to check in the engine bay for plug attachment point?

that is something im not too sure of

does it come standard? best prob to ask the dealer.
Good question. Have you checked the owners manual, if anything it should mention in their where you can find the heater.
is an option. I ordered mine with it was about $70 dollars
Look on the passenger side where the hood and headlight meet. The plug should be tucked in that area if it has one.
did you order one as an option? You can always get it retrofitted from the dealer...
Did not order the heater. Manual mentions it having one, but when I see it as an option for order, I question it. Mine was the first off of the Dealer's Lot. Their staff has no clue about it.

I assumed that if RAM is selling a diesel in Colorado, they would have known that below zero temps are a likely occurance for 3-4 mos of the year.

I will dig around the passenger side compartment and see what i can find.

Not bad, $70 is well worth it, great "investment" for a vehicle like this.
exactly, it's also one of the main reasons i would get it, cant go wrong at a price like that
The word is that the heater comes with all the engines. One just has to buy the cord.
CORD-ENGINE BLOCK HEATER - MOPAR Part # 68186526AB - MOPAR with a engine
68186526AB Dodge CORD-ENGINE BLOCK HEATER
sweet.

i'd imagine any universal block heater cord would work

I'll have to check into this further. This cord is for the Jeep CRD diesel. It might be one and the same.
Per other thread, I looked under the truck, behind the passenger tire at the base of the engine. There is a brass fixture with an orange plug cover as described. Now just need to acquire the correct cord.
While at Service Dept I asked Parts person about purchase of the cord and was quoted $135.00. Good news is it is in stock! Gee, I wonder why??

cost of heater option at purchase

it was only 90 dollars for the heater when i placed my order-- cheaper than the cord?

Apparently the actual heater is installed in all the engines. The $90 is for the cord to be installed.
