Hi guys and gals,
2014 ED Outdoorsman, have 18000kms now. Since day one there is this awful sound like a dying animal when you let off the gas. The faster and harder the gas pedal is pushed and released, the louder the noise as the rpms return to idle. A noise maybe like a faulty bearing on a spindle or something. Has anyone else heard this noise.
Cheers!

Besides this and a DEF message and check engine, I love this vehicle!!!

I have exactly the same noise since I took it off the lot. Not real loud but I can notice it and repeat it. I plan to ask the dealer at the first oil change coming up in about a month.

I envision a bad bearing in the idler for the accessory belt. I haven't stuck my head in there but I will before I take it in.

I do not have the sound you are describing, however when my truck is cold I can hear the turbo make a whistle or winding noise, but before I took it to the dealer I noticed it sounded like plastic spinning noise. As if there is no lube on something and it sounds like friction, but nothing loud. Once it is warm no sound, and it quite anyway.

i have the same noise since new aswell. i asked a chrysler mechanic to get in and drive it and he told me that it is the sound of the turbo winding down. i assume the noise you hear kind of sounds like a growl of sorts
Ya, a growl is a good way to describe it. The turbo has that nice pleasing whistle when if winds up, I can't imagine it would make that growl on the the way down. Still have not taken it in.

good to know. I'm going into the dealer for the first time for an oil change, I'll talk to the mechanic and see what he says.
