I believe the same shifter is found in the Jaguar.......they built clicks into it so all of us would think we are doing something mechanical!! it's really just an electric shifter!

I used it today. No issues here. Easy to use and yes there is a up shift down shift on the steering wheel.

especially when parking and going from drive to reverse. you have to fiddle with a knob now.

Should be easy to get used to, in a matter of time you'll be so used to it that when you go into a truck with a column shifter you'll feel like its 100 years old or just ghetto

AS long as it has distinct clicks so that you know for sure when you are moving between different gears, I think it will be fine. This is just a case of growing pains. It was probably a decision that was made to clean up the interior a bit. That wheel shifter takes up less space than a shifter lever. Look at how much space there is to play with in the interior now.

I've driven several different Ram trucks with the rotary shifter, and found it quite intuitive. I grew to like it very quickly, and don't consider it to be a big deal at all.

It was over on another forum, maybe Dodge Forum? No, I think it was DodgeTalk. I don't recall, been so long since I was over there. Anyway, it was when the V6's first rolled out, guys picked them up and said it's no big deal at all.

Exactly. There's no reason to; you don't save fuel, you don't save wear and tear on anything, there's just no reason to.
