Just learned that our brand spanking new EcoDiesel is leaking transmission fluid..This truck has 250 miles, has never towed anything and is dripping fluid. The dealer is puzzled..asked that I drive it home and bring back next week when they will take a closer look. Of course this a major inconvenience and could be a big issue as it's drive train related and must be corrected. Thoughts or suggestions?..a worried Ram owner

I suggest contacting your dealer, telling them about the issue, make sure they have a loaner truck that's the equivalent of yours and then take it in for service. Once you do, let us know how it all goes, i noticed a few other members are going through this as well

I had a similar experience when I got my 2002 ram 5.9 ltr I drove it off the lot and only had a few miles on it when I noticed the transmission leaking from the front seal. Took it to the dealer. They found the seal had 'rolled' during assembly. They fixed it without any discussion. It now has 210k miles and hasn't leaked a drop.

This is the "heavier" version of the transmission.

They make tens of thousands. You got unlucky. Shucks. The tranny they are using in the Eco. for 2014 has some different components than the earlier ones. Your problem is not a pattern, in spite of what that link from last year might say.

Even more of a reason to do your own inspection before taking it off their lot.
